Only a few more years of riding the bus
Did you know 23 million kids ride school buses every day? That’s close to the number of people who live in Texas! Remind your friends to be safe on the bus with these tips:
- When the bus gets close to your stop, stand at least 6 feet away from the street corner.
- Do you have to cross the street to get on the bus? Go around the front of the bus and make sure the bus driver can see you. Never walk behind the bus.
- If you drop something like a backpack, pencil or notepad close to the bus, wait to pick it up until you tell the bus driver because he or she may not see you.
- It’s fun hanging out with your friends on the bus, but don’t try to change seats or stand up while the bus is moving. You may get in the way of the driver’s view.
